On Thursday it was announced that Bryson DeChambeau and his long-time caddie Tim Tucker are taking a break. Trucker has been on the bag for DeChambeau for all eight of his wins, including the U.S. Open in 2020.
Being a professional caddie in one of the most insecure jobs on the planet that's why it is impressive if a player and caddie work together for more than a couple of seasons. Let’s take a look at some of the longest
player-caddie relationships we have witnessed over the years.

Navarro started caddying for Greg Norman in 1992 when the Aussie was still in his prime. The duo worked for 12 years and won more than 20 tournaments worldwide. In 1999 Navarro had the chance to take the bag of Tiger Woods, but he was loyal to Norman and turned down the opportunity.

Tiger Woods and Steve Williams started to work together in 1999 and their partnership came to an end in2011. Williams was on the bag for 13 of Tiger’s 15 major wins and has been Woods’ right hand in every Ryder Cup in that period. Woods fired Williams in 2011 as he was not happy with the fact that the New Zealander caddied for Adam Scott at the U.S Open.

Mike (Fluff) Cowan took Furyk’s bag in 1999 and has been there since. Fluff has been next to Furyk when the American won his lone major at the 2003 U.S. Open and when he became the first player in the history of the PGA TOUR to shoot a 58 at the 2016 Travelers Championship. The duo has won more than 15 titles together.

Peter Coleman and Bernhard Langer had been working together for 22 years before taking a break in 2003. Langer claimed more than 50 titles worldwide with Coleman on the bag, including two Green Jackets in 1985 and 1993. Coleman was on Langer’s bag in 10 Ryder Cups.

With no doubt, the most popular partnership on the PGA Tour was the one between Phil Mickelson and Jim (Bones) Mackay and it lasted for 25 years. Bones has been on Mickelson's bag since 1992, but the two golfing legends split ways in 2017. For those 25 years they have won more than 40 times on the PGA Tour, including five majors and represented USA in 11 Ryder Cups. After his divorce with Mickelson Bones started to work as an NBC on-course commentator and we see him more and more rarely on a bag during a PGA Tour event.
