South African golfer Jayden Schaper delivered another thrilling performance to win the 2025 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, the final event of the DP World Tour season. Held at La Réserve Golf Links, Schaper edged out American Ryan Gerard in a playoff, repeating his victory from the previous week at the Alfred Dunhill Championship—again with a playoff win and again with a highlight-reel finish.
Schaper opened his final round with two birdies and an eagle on hole 5, maintaining momentum with four more birdies on the back nine to card an impressive 64 (-8). Gerard kept the pressure on with a bogey-free 66 (-6), featuring four birdies on the front nine and two more on the back.
Both players finished at 22-under-par, forcing a playoff. On the second extra hole, Schaper sealed the win with a dramatic chip-in eagle, while Gerard could only manage par. The 24-year-old South African now heads into the holiday season with two consecutive DP World Tour titles under his belt.
Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for anything better’
Speaking after his win, an emotional Schaper reflected on his incredible run: ‘The last three weeks have been unbelievable. I don’t know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like that. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas is going to be great this year, and so is the new year.’
Fellow South African Casey Jarvis secured third place after a steady tournament performance. His final round included four birdies and three bogeys, resulting in a 71.
