The PGA Tour kicks off this week at the Genesis Invitational in Pacific Palisades, California, at the Riviera Country Club with Tiger Woods as host. Although Matti Schmid is the sole German-speaking player competing, the tournament boasts a high-profile field of prominent names vying for important points on the world rankings. The total prize fund is $20,000,000. Besides defending champion Ludvig Åberg, world number one Scottie Scheffler will also be competing. Other top players include Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Collin Morikawa, Russell Henley, J.J. Spaun, among many others completing the elite lineup. The DP World Tour heads to Kenya for the Magical Kenya Open in the capital city Nairobi. Several German-speaking players are on the entry list, including the season-successful Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf, accompanied by Marcel Siem, Marcel Schneider, Joel Girrbach, Bernd Wiesberger, and Maximilian Steinlechner, although the field is traditionally dominated by Kenyan players. MagentaTV also broadcasts all four tournament days live.
The LPGA Tour travels to Pattaya, Thailand, for the Honda LPGA Thailand. Esther Henseleit represents the German-speaking region this week. This tournament is broadcast live by Sky Sports Golf.
