Several German-speaking pros compete for three spots in the LIV Golf League 2026 at the Florida Promotions event.

From January 8 to 11, the LIV Golf Promotions in Lecanto, Florida, bring together nearly 90 players from 24 countries, all vying for one of three wild-card spots in the 2026 LIV Golf League. The path includes four rounds of stroke play, with daily cuts and new opportunities. Those making the weekend compete for a total purse of 1.5 million USD and a place in the global LIV Golf circuit. At the end, three spots for the LIV Golf League 2026 with guaranteed starts at all 13 events are at stake, while ten others earn starts in the International Series.

LIV Golf Opens the Door – Who Will Seize the Chance?

The field includes tour winners, former LIV players, and newcomers. For some, it’s about a comeback; for others, a breakthrough. Among them, five German-speaking participants see this as a genuine opportunity and perhaps the start of a new chapter.

Max Kieffer and the Next Chapter

For Max Kieffer, this event might be his most important appearance since his 2022 DP World Tour victory. After 13 years at the top European level, he lost his tour card. The 2025 season did not go as planned, with a drop in rankings and a missed Q-School. Now, LIV Golf is next. The Düsseldorf native brings experience and a clear message: “We’re not done yet.” Florida will show how far the road back really is.

Foos, Bachem, Rottluff, Schwab: Stories of Determination

Dominic Foos drew attention with an Asian Tour win in 2025. His steady play and international experience paved his way to the promotions. Now, he wants more, with a LIV Golf League spot promising a major step up and increased exposure.

Nick Bachem ended 2025 bitterly with injury and a poor Q-School performance, yet he’s known for resilience and top-level victories. Similarly, Austrian Matthias Schwab missed the Tour School final, ending his realistic tour ticket chances. After years on the PGA and DP World Tours, LIV Golf could be a new path. Maximilian Rottluff enters with his own perspective, having qualified last year for the Asian Tour’s International Series through this very event.

Known Names and Open Opportunities in LIV Golf

The international field also features well-known global pros, including Ryder Cup player Chris Wood (England), five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy (France), and Miguel Tabuena (Philippines), a top-three International Series player in 2025. Pablo Ereno (Spain), a former top-ten amateur, and Christopher Wood (Australia), 2025 PGA Tour of Australasia leader, also compete. Former LIV players such as Anthony Kim, Matt Jones, and Ben Campbell use the promotions series to re-qualify for the 2026 season.
