Sport Minister Maree Todd has launched a new concussion awareness programme for schools.

This initiative marks the start of the Active Schools programme and celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Scottish Sports Concussion Guidance, which was the first comprehensive set of concussion advice for grassroots sports globally.

Importance of Concussion Awareness

It is estimated that 50% of sports concussions go unreported, with young people aged 10 to 19 being the most affected. Upskilling teachers and students to recognize and manage suspected concussions is crucial for reducing the risk of serious injuries in young athletes.
