Gregor Biernath moves from Sky to MagentaTV, strengthening the new golf team as extensive live broadcasts begin.

After securing exclusive broadcasting rights for the Ryder Cup, the DP World Tour, and the PGA Tour, MagentaTV welcomes a prominent commentator from Sky Sport. The live broadcasts will start as early as January 15, 2026, featuring a total of 131 events on two channels, making MagentaTV the new home for live golf on television.

Gregor Biernath: “Something New and Good for Golf is Emerging”

Gregor Biernath, one of the most recognized golf voices in the German-speaking world, is moving from Sky to MagentaTV. Biernath will lead the new expert team, supported by golf experts Florian Zunker, Bernd Ritthammer, and Max Kramer. About his move, Biernath said, “The entire team immediately gave me the feeling that something new and good for golf can emerge here. We can innovate and shake up golf coverage at MagentaTV.” He also described the new team as a “cool editorial team” and spoke of a “really good mix.”

New voices have also been recruited in the commentator area. Michael Born, who has previously worked as a handball and football commentator at DAZN, will commentate golf events together with Herbert Gogel and Stephan Gandel. Additionally, Holger Speckhahn, known mainly as an ice hockey presenter for MagentaSport, will also accompany the upcoming live broadcasts.
