Exciting Weekend at Wanstead Golf Club Championships

The Wanstead Golf Club Championships took place over the weekend! ⛳️ ? Thank you to everyone who came along. Special thanks go to the greens staff, catering and bar team, and Eileen and Tony Devaney, and Kishen and Dave who all helped the weekend run smoothly.
Day 1 went smoothly, if a bit windy, with Gregory Alexander and Danny Heathwood leading the mens scratch with a score of 74, Charlie Dickens leading the nett score for the 0-9 handicaps with 69, and James Holmes for the 10-28 handicaps with 67! Lorenza De Domenico was leading the womens scratch competition with a score of 86 and Vicky was leading the womens handicap comp with 74! And the draw for day 2 was done before 7:30pm!!
Day 2 began with the Juniors heading off early, followed by the women and then the men in reverse gross order from day 1 results.
The winner of the handicap trophy for the women was Lynn Vernon, and the winner of the scratch trophy was Lorenza De Domenico! Please see the latest club newsletter for the breakdown of all final scores.
While the other players were enjoying the BBQ, the last few mens players were coming in. Two of those were Joshua Hussein and Frankie Tock, who both scored an impressive score of 150 across both days!
As this is the Club Championships, there was a decision from the Handicaps Committee to have a play off for the championship bowl. Many members went down to watch the play off, and it ended with Joshua Hussein winning on the first hole. Congratulations to Josh ?
