Marc Hammer secures his Asian Tour card after a tense playoff at Q-School in Hua Hin. Other Germans miss the cut.

The final stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying School (Q-School) at the Lake View Resort and Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand, concluded with 35 players earning their tour cards — including German golfer Marc Hammer. After five intense days of competition, China’s Lin Yuxin topped the leaderboard, finishing at 16-under-par to lead the class of 2025.

Milestone victory for Lin Yuxin

Lin Yuxin’s win marks a major milestone in the career of the highly regarded left-hander. A two-time winner of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (2017, 2019), Lin played college golf at the University of Florida before turning professional in 2023. He has since competed on the PGA Tour Americas and select Korn Ferry Tour events. Speaking about his recent struggles on the greens, Lin said, “I played well all season but had putting issues, especially in the summer. I worked hard in October and November, and now my game feels good again.” He added, “It’s been tough with many ups and downs. Honestly, I just had to stay patient. I’ve learned a lot since turning pro — it’s been a valuable experience.”

India’s Shaurya Bhattacharya followed closely behind, finishing second at 15-under-par after a final-round 72. Canadian Henry Lee claimed third place at 14-under-par.

Marc Hammer clinches Asian Tour card in playoff

The battle for the final tour cards came down to a dramatic five-hole playoff. Twelve players tied at five-under-par for 28th place competed for the remaining eight spots. Among the successful qualifiers was Germany’s Marc Hammer from Sandhausen, Baden-Württemberg. The 27-year-old delivered a steady performance throughout the week, finishing with rounds of 71–67–72–70 and a final-round 70 (-2). His consistency paid off as he secured one of the coveted cards. Hammer has prior experience on the DP World Tour, where he posted three top-10 finishes last season.

Other German participants — Nicolas Horder (T93), Philipp Katich (T100), Wolfgang Glawe (T118), and Julius Kreutzer (T118) — failed to make the cut after the fourth round.
