Several German-speaking pros compete for three spots in the LIV Golf League 2026 at the Florida promotions.

From January 8 to 11, the LIV Golf Promotions in Lecanto, Florida will bring nearly 90 players from 24 countries together, all aiming for one of three wild-card spots for the LIV Golf League 2026. The path leads over four rounds of stroke play, with a new cut each day and fresh chances. Those who make it to the weekend will compete for a total prize fund of 1.5 million USD and a place in the global LIV Golf circuit. Ultimately, three spots for the LIV Golf League 2026, including guaranteed starts at all 13 events, are up for grabs. Ten others will secure start rights for the International Series.

LIV Golf Opens the Door – Who Will Seize the Opportunity?

The field features tour winners, former LIV players, and newcomers. For some, it’s a comeback, for others, a first big breakthrough. Among them, five German-speaking participants see the event as a real opportunity and perhaps the start of a new chapter.

Max Kieffer Looking Towards the Next Chapter

For Max Kieffer, the event may be the most important appearance since his victory on the DP World Tour in 2022. After 13 years on the European top tier, he lost his tour card. Nick Bachem’s 2025 ended bitterly with injury, form crisis, and finishing last at Q-School. Yet those who know the 26-year-old know he doesn’t give up easily. Bachem has already shown he can win at top level. Similarly, Matthias Schwab missed the final stage of Q-School, losing any realistic chance for a tour card. After years on the PGA and DP World Tour, he’s now seeking a new path—LIV Golf might offer it. Maximilian Rottluff approaches the LIV Golf Promotions with a unique perspective. The 32-year-old qualified last year via this very tournament for the International Series on the Asian Tour.

Familiar Names and Unfinished Business at LIV Golf

The international field includes many well-known names from global professional golf. This includes Ryder Cup participant Chris Wood (England), five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy (France), and Miguel Tabuena (Philippines), who ranked in the top three of the International Series in 2025, as well as Pablo Ereno (Spain), formerly top ten in the
