The PGA Tour was in action at the THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson tournament, set on the picturesque greens of TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. Round 2 brought forth a mix of excellent golfing, positioning the top five players with remarkable total scores on the leaderboard.

Jake Knapp of the USA took the lead at the end of the day with a total score of -14. Close contests followed with Troy Merritt of the USA and Matt Wallace from England both tied at the second position with a total score of -13. While the fourth position saw Kelly Kraft from the USA, the total score of -12. Tied at the fifth position with a total score of -11 were Davis Riley from the USA, Taylor Pendrith from Canada, and fellow Americans, Keith Mitchell and Ben Kohles.

The round offered golf enthusiasts some PGA Tour highlights with Troy Merritt, Keith Mitchell, and S.H. Kim showcasing the best daily scores of the day. Merritt took the lead with a daily score of -9, followed by Mitchell and S.H. Kim, both demonstrating solid games with a daily score of -6 each.

About the PGA Tour

The PGA Tour is the largest American professional golf tour. There are 36 tournaments on the tour’s schedule this season. The tournaments mainly take place in the USA, but there are also some international venues over the course of the season. The signature events introduced in 2023 offer higher prize money and a smaller field of participants. There will be a total of eight of these events in the 2024 season. The four Majors and the Players Championship are also part of the PGA Tour. At the end of the tours season, the 70 best players in the FedEx Cup season rankings will play in a three-tournament play-off for overall tour victory and an extra 18 million dollars in prize money.
