Description
Heaton Moor Golf Club celebrated its centenary in 1992. From its beginnings with 9 holes on leased land, our 'oasis in the suburbs' - an 18-hole, 6000 yard par 70 course with a well-appointed clubhouse - is now wholly owned by members, ensuring a local and friendly golf facility for the future.
The gently undulating parkland course is set in a mature and protected nature reserve and has two separate 9-hole courses starting at the clubhouse. As a member and if time is short, the course lends itself to playing just a few holes as there are several starting points. On a balmy summer evening, it's hard to resist sneaking outside for a 'little practice' and you always have the added comfort of knowing you're never more than a short walk from the 19th hole!
You'll find that the biggest challenge on this well-manicured course is accuracy, avoiding the many bunkers and especially the hundreds of trees that line the relatively narrow fairways. But don't relax when you reach the greens! There are plenty of subtle borrows there to test your skills with the putter.
A small practice area adjoins the main tee, and there are practice greens for putting next to the clubhouse and the first tee.
