Masters Pro Golf Tour Thrives at Mellor & Towncliffe Golf Club

This week, on Monday & Tuesday, we were honoured to host the Masters Pro Golf Tour at Mellor Golf Club, and welcomed the best golfers in Mellor history to our fairways - what a brilliant 2 days we have had!
The feedback from the pro’s was great, and it is safe to say they thoroughly enjoyed their 2 rounds here – they did give a special mention to some of the tricky pin positions and the great British summertime(!) weather!
The overall 2-day winner was Gary Wolstenholme MBE, with a gross score of 143.
Gary has previously won the PGA Euro Pro Tour in 2010, and has played the likes of the European Senior Tour, and won three events: the 2010 Casa Serena Open, 2012 Mallorca Open Senior and the 2012 Benahavis Senior Masters.
John King & David Shacklady were just pipped to the post, both with gross scores of 144.
The tour organisers thanked us for our hospitality, Gary Brown for organising the event, and our members who came down to watch and ball-spotted.
We hope to see the Masters Pro Golf Tour back at Mellor next year… even bigger & better!
