Members Captains Away Day - Hankley
On Wed 26th June, the Nevill Golf Club descended on @hankleycommongolfclub for the Captains’ away day. We were welcomed on the registration desk by Elliott Owens and our soon to be new pro Sam Pitcairn who both had organised our tee times and the competition order of the day.
We had wonderful weather and sun shone for the whole round. The course was presented immaculately by the team at Hankley. They provided two starters off the 1st and the 10th and the food afterwards was of the highest calibre.
The Results were as follows:
1st - Lynne Pickering, Graham Pickering, Brad Angels, Jack Sims – 86 pts
2nd - Mike Harrison, Nick Brown, Ed Tidmarsh, Keith Bassi – 86 pts
• Best male - Rob Gordon 38 pts • Best female – Junko Wates 37 pts • Nearest to the pin – Guy Kent • Longest Drive - Mike Harrison
Our thanks go to the team at Hankley for hosting us so well. To Stuart, our wonderful secretary, who despite being ill, still managed to ensure we had everything we needed. Also, a mention to Colin Parsons who manned the rehydration buggy around the course.
Finally, a big thank you to Elliott and Sam for organising the score cards and running the competition on the day
There were a few sore heads the next day as a number of the travelling party fell out of the booze bus home and onto the Nevill patio for more drinks and pizzas. You know who you are!
