Egypt can look back on a long tradition of golf that dates back to the 19th century. The oldest golf club in Africa, the Mena House Oberoi Golf Club, was opened here in 1889. The location of the course is breathtaking, the nine-hole course is right next to the pyramids of Giza. Today there are 23 golf clubs in Egypt. The best time to travel to Egypt is from March to May and from September to November. In midsummer it can get very hot with temperatures of over 40 degrees Celsius, while in the winter months you can expect it to cool down considerably, especially at night.
Egypt also has a lot to offer in culinary terms. Egyptian cuisine offers numerous delicacies such as freshly caught fish, seafood, Egyptian shawarmas, which are similar to the well-known kebab, kofta meatballs or koshari, a lentil and noodle pot.

The documents must be valid for at least 6 months. A temporary identity card is not sufficient to enter Egypt. You also need a visa to enter the country. In most cases, this can be obtained at Egyptian airports. The visa is valid for 4 weeks.
You can use your own phone in Egypt via roaming. However, it is cheaper to buy an Egyptian prepaid card. However, you must have a simlock-free
cell phone. This makes it easy and convenient to receive free calls and save over 80 % of the call costs.
Most holidaymakers travel to Egypt by plane, with the largest airports being in Cairo and Alexandria. The flight time from Germany to Egypt is approx. 4 hours. Domestic flights operate daily from Cairo to Sharm el Sheikh, Luxor, Alexandria, Hurghada and Aswan. The bus network in Egypt is very well developed and connects all of Egypt's cities with each other.

As Egypt is an Islamic country, you should not show too much naked skin here. Topless on the beach is an absolute taboo here. There are also no nudist beaches in Egypt.
In Egypt, haggling over the price when shopping is a must. Haggling without the intention to buy is considered an insult.
You should not take photos of the locals without permission, as this is a taboo subject in Islamic countries.
Drunkenness in public is forbidden in Egypt and is severely punished.
